This selection was followed by a ceremony that placed the Chosen One at the altar and the Suitor in the garden a hundred paces away. The elders then asked the Questions. If the answers of the Suitor were liked, the Suitor was called closer to the altar. When enough favorable answers were given, the Suitor was now at the altar. He then was permitted to unveil and embrace his Chosen One, symbolizing the start of their new romance
